III: Animation Content - AKIRA

1. Cyberpunk is one of my favourite genres in the media of pop culture. It creates a dystopian world due to the disturbance in the system through the flow of electronic advancement. It makes us realize about the world we are living in on where it will go in the next decades. The anarchies rage over time, the AI control the population, and the technology is our breathing aid machine. This is the description of a perfectly produced anime called AKIRA.

2. AKIRA is one of my favourite animation because of its plot and production that captured my attention for two hours straight. The anime describes the concept of false God, technology misusage, and police state environment that perfectly fit the setting of cyberpunk genre. Even though the whole anime is about flaws in the system, it still touches the humanity issues such as friendship, personal goals, and saving the environment.

3. To me, AKIRA is fun to watch because for an anime that was produced in 1988, it pioneered the genre of cyberpunk in animation. Even though there have been a lot of cyberpunk animations like Ghost in the Shell, Metropolis, and Paprika, AKIRA is still relevant because of its storyline that defines the genre wholly.
